I am currently undertaking a PhD candidature in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Melbourne under the supervision of Professor Marcus Pandy.
gait.extraction.toolbox.v1.5 (november 2008)
A small Matlab based project I began in early
2006 to extract essential kinetic, kinematic and EMG information
directly from a Vicon C3D file tor extensive Matlab manipulation.
The scripts are set up for use at the Dept of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Melbourne, but can be
configured for any lab (using a Vicon motion capture setup and AMTI
force plates (this may require some minor changes to some of the m
files). I have decided to release it to other researchers for free
without warranty but I do ask for acknowledgement if used in
publications. Free
download is available with instructions and an example included. Main features of
this script include:
Custom marker extraction
Kinetic extraction (GRF, GRM)
Automatic CoP calculation
Transformation to customizable model coordinate system (for OpenSim)
MVC acquisition
EMG acquisition & batch processing tools
XML file production (for OpenSim)
Lab Customizable (only supports AMTI Force Plates & Vicon Motion
Capture)
Full pipeline example from gait extraction to muscle force
calculation in OpenSim
The scripts require Motion Labs C3D Server software (freeware) which is
included with the script download. Additional C3D software may be
useful and these are available at
http://www.c3d.org/download_apps.html. Review the included
manual for version updates and additions. Please
inform me of bugs
/ suggestions to improve as this will be an ongoing project.
